Why Did Ebay end the Mystery Auction Category

I think Ebay ended the Mystery Auction Category to try and discourage the Whole Mystery Auction layouts. (Thats not rocket science) A Mystery Auction is supposed to be just that, a Mystery, with hints of gifts that you will recive.

The problem with a mystery auction is that not everyone can get a nice gift or gifts, and that in a nut shell is what sparked the down fall of the mystery auction category. Many ebayers after purchasing a mystery auction item complained that they had gotten ripped off, when in actuality they got exactly what they agreed to when they were purchasing.

Usually a mystery auction is for an Envelope and or box of some type with a mystery gift inside. I personally don't see where the problem is. Most mystery auctions plainly tell you you are puchasing a box and a box only or in many circumstances a envelope and an envelope only.

So I just don't get it. Most Smart Ebayers know that the Majority of Mystery Auctions are designed to make the seller money. It's the newbies I think that ruined the Mystery Auction Category. The Newbie Ebayers complined so much about getting ripped of and not getting what they thought they were going to get that ebay just said the heck with Mystery Auctions.

You can still of course run mystery auctions on ebay, there just is no category for the mystery auction any more. You can run your mystery auction in just about every category that you want. Do a search on ebay for yourself. Search the word mystery auction and you will see mystery auctions in all kinds of categories now.
